Modi's NDA Address: Emphasizing Collective Achievements and Nuclear Energy Ambitions
In a recent address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored that the nation takes precedence over political parties, asserting that no decision is too daunting when guided by the principle of "nation first." He highlighted significant changes made by his government, stating,
“Previously, governments were afraid to even discuss Article 370. We abolished it and implemented a single Constitution across the country.”Modi also noted the marked improvement in peace and stability in the Northeast, contrasting it with the earlier reliance on military force.
Reflecting on the NDA's 12-year tenure, Modi pointed out that these accomplishments were achieved amid global uncertainty, showcasing the advantages of a stable government. On the energy front, he urged the country to accelerate its nuclear energy initiatives while also pushing forward on renewable energy goals. He stated,
“We have demonstrated to the world just how far India has advanced in fast breeder reactor technology.”Modi expressed confidence that India will emerge as a global leader in green technologies like hydrogen and ammonia.
The Prime Minister also called for healthy competition among states to become the first trillion-dollar economy and foster innovation hubs. He credited NDA policies for lifting over 25 crore people out of poverty, emphasizing the trust placed in his government following the perceived failures of the Congress party. Modi remarked,
“I believe that we must not let those who were poor yesterday, and have now become the ‘neo middle class’, slip back.”He emphasized the need for relentless effort in meeting the expectations of a diverse population.
Modi's critique of the Congress party highlighted his belief that they perpetuated a narrative of limited growth potential. He asserted that the NDA's progress proves otherwise, stating,
“The point is, if so much could be achieved in 12 years, why didn’t it happen over the preceding decades?”He cited impressive statistics, such as the leap from 2.5 gigawatts of solar capacity in 2014 to over 150 gigawatts today.
Addressing the middle class, Modi noted that prior to 2014, they often faced bureaucratic hurdles. He highlighted the current tax-free income limit of Rs 12 lakh and praised the simplified tax system and improved infrastructure. Modi concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to enhancing opportunities for middle-class families and realizing their aspirations for homeownership through initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat scheme and GST reforms.
