INDIA Bloc Demands Education Minister's Resignation Over Examination Controversies

The INDIA bloc has united in calling for the immediate resignation of the Education Minister, citing a failure to protect the interests of countless students who participated in the NEET and CBSE exams. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge underscored this collective decision, emphasizing the need for a focused approach on youth issues and maintaining institutional integrity. He also announced that the coalition will convene every two months to assess the political landscape and refine their strategies.

Kharge revealed that the next formal gathering of the INDIA bloc leaders is scheduled for August 8, with subsequent meetings to be arranged as necessary. As the Monsoon Session of Parliament approaches, the bloc is intensifying its legislative strategies. Regular strategy sessions will be held at the office of the Leader of the Opposition to present a united front against the ruling government.

“The Union government should immediately call an all-party meeting to discuss the precarious current economic situation, unemployment, price rise, and farmers’ issues,” Kharge stated. He confirmed that all parties will continue to coordinate in Parliament during the session with daily morning meetings. Notably, Uddhav Thackeray and Hemant Soren participated virtually, aligning with the bloc's concerns.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav reinforced the sentiment of unity, stating that the bloc is gearing up for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections. “Bandhu raj (brotherhood) must be formed, and this will be our effort,” Yadav said, pointing to the growing discontent among the populace, particularly women. Meanwhile, NCP MP Supriya Sule highlighted the critical economic challenges facing India, including inflation and unemployment.

In contrast, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak dismissed the INDIA bloc's efforts, claiming they lack public support and are merely a coalition of power-seekers. “They have lost all public support. It is now evident that this is merely a gathering of power-hungry individuals vying for office,” Pathak asserted.
