Federal Reserve Faces Dilemma Over Inflation Control
Jeffrey Schmid, President of the Kansas City Federal Reserve, has indicated that the central bank might soon have to rethink its current stance on interest rates, as inflation persists at around 3.5%. This level has been consistently above the target for an extended period, prompting discussions among policymakers.
While a patient approach remains an option, Schmid noted that escalating price pressures, particularly those associated with tariffs and oil prices, are raising the chances of implementing stricter monetary policies in the near future.
